When I purchased Doorway to Dementia, I had no idea it was a series of short stories. Very well written & almost every story had me wanting more!

It was a quick read & I look forward to reading more from this author. I highly recommend!!!

I had not realized at first that this was a series of moments, snapshots really, of that instant where reality twists just enough that sanity loses focus and something else rises up. They are all brilliantly crafted stages, many of them weaving a web of normalcy before that moment where the curtain is lifted and we are left gaping at the darkness that lurks underneath. Others flaunt their shadows from the first word, bringing to life the horrors that may be lurking behind even the most innocent of eyes.

Some of the stories followed predictable lines, but Todd Macy's skill in weaving together those in which the expected happens and those in which you never see the knife before it hangs before you in all of its bloody glory leaves the reader never quite knowing what to expect next.

Doorway to Dementia was made up of 13 chilling stories .. . . reading and thinking you know what is going to happen, but really you had no clue !

Brad was going to meet the perfect person, a match he has wanted for a long time . . . when Kelly was not what he expected, across the room he spotted another . . . . she seemed quiet, not a looker, but there was something that intrigued him. After meeting her they leave together, what Brad does not know is he her perfect match. He will fulfill an itch that she has had for to long . . . .

Little Emily is 10 and up till 6 months ago she was the only child. Her dream is to be a doctor, so she does what any child would do with an imagination would do . . . play doctor with her dolls. Mom doesn't understand and just gets annoyed . . . . One day Emily was bored with her dolls and found another patient that "was good at playing this game" .. . . .

When couples marry they marry FOREVER. . . . Harry and Martha have been married for 52 years. They were married at very young age and many said they would not last. Harry could never give Martha children and this made him feel he was fallen short in life and dragging his wife down as well. When Martha passes Harry makes a deadly decision . . . . till death do you part . . .

Lana Martin has a 6 year old son, his father died 8 years ago . . . . When little Bobby wants to know how his dad dies Lana is faced with telling the truth, one that many may not believe . . . .

This is just a few of the 13 stories. They will not disappoint ! They kept me wanting for more ! ! ! Two thumbs for the author !
